What is the New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners?
The New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (NJSBPTE) is under the jurisdiction of the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs in the NJ Department of Law and Public Safety (Office of the Attorney General). The Board is made up of 11 New Jersey residents appointed by the Governor and consists of: 6 physical therapists, 1 physical therapist assistant, 1 physician, 1 (State) Executive Department member and 2 public members. Their role is to protect consumers by regulating the practice of physical therapy, and to examine and license physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.
All licensees of the NJSBPTE are subject to the Guide for Professional Conduct and Code of Ethics that were adopted from the APTA.
