Did You Know?
Brought to you by the APTAnj Practice Committee Autonomous practice is one of the main tenets of APTA's Vision 2020. In this framework, "physical therapists accept the responsibility to practice autonomously and collaboratively in all practice environments to provide best practice to the patient/client." As defined within Vision 2020, "autonomous physical therapist practice is characterized by independent, self-determined, professional judgment and action." It requires a level of interdependence or collaboration between other health care professionals and public. However, ultimately, the physical therapist is responsible for all aspects of patient management. |

The Practice Committee's mission is two-fold. Firstly, we are striving to educate PTs and PTAs in New Jersey about APTA Core Documents, policies and resources. Secondly, we exist to raise awareness of issues for APTAnj members which affect the scope of physical therpay practice in the State. We invite your to use these resources related to practice on our webpage and contact us with requests for additional information
