With the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, many of us are dealing with the loss of power, water, heat and disrupted communication, not to mention all those who suffered devastating loss of property, particularly the Jersey Shore.
To help our physical therapy community APTAnj has set up a “Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Fund.” Your donation to the APTAnj Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Fund will go directly to physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and their families.
Along with our call for action, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia has donated $5,000 to the New Jersey chapter (APTAnj) for disaster relief in our state.

Thank you for your support of the physical therapy profession and our colleagues in need. To quote Governor Christie, “the rebuilding starts today.”

In addition to the disaster relief fund, APTAnj members can offer assistance with cleanup, or request help with cleanup! Post your availability or needs in this new COMMUNITY FORUM-- Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief - Helping the PT Community in NJ located in the red Communities tab on the APTAnj homepage. Once an APTAnj member logs in, you can post your willingness to assist others under “I CAN ASSIST by…” OR post what you need help with under “Can you HELP ME with…” This Community Forum is open to all APTAnj members to facilitate giving each other a helping hand.  If your Internet access is down or you do not have power, please call the APTAnj office at (609) 208-0200 and staff will help with posting your request.
